About the author Richard Meredith was born and educated in the UK. He first trained as an accountant, but soon found that writing and later publishing were more his style. After a year hitch-hiking round Europe he began a career in journalism which eventually led to the Daily Express in London. He left to start a weekly newspaper with friends and later began his own company producing business magazines, industry reviews and yearbooks. His qualifications include the NCTJ’s certificate in journalism and diplomas in business growth from Cranfield University and business excellence from Newcastle College. He is a visiting university lecturer, a member of the Society of Authors, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers in Higher Education, and the National Union of Journalists. Richard is divorced with a son and daughter and - when he is not traveling abroad - lives in a 100-year-old, former farmworker's cottage in Buckinghamshire with a pub at the end of the lane. |
